Shopping for all those special people...
Her Majesty's and Fairchild's are packed with wonderful unique gift items. We have tried harder than usual this year to find things that are not as commercial as so many of the gifts out there. This is the time of year I try to find things for people that are not every where. Things that my friends and family have not already seen in a million stores. Or catalogs. That is the challenge for me as a shopper and me as a shoppe owner.
My friend Bobigene at The Secret Garden captures just that. Many of her clothing items are one of a kind. All romantic. All gorgeous. Her accessories are also special. Lacy scarves in faded colors. Hand made totes and purses. When I shop at her store I feel like I am leaving the commercial part of the holidays behind.
This is also the time of year it doesn't hurt a thing to get a gift or two for yourself. The selection is at its peak and well, when all is said and done it is good to treat yourself now and again. When the season is over, your feet are tired, your diet trashed and all the exhaustion of the holidays has really set in, you will want a treat and many of the stores will be picked over. So I say, maybe a treat or two now is ok. So before the roads get bad and the crowds get out of hand, enjoy shopping.
And maybe a cup of Christmas tea just to get you in the mood.
